CELTIC, Central Europe. Vindelici. 1st century BC. 1/4 Stater (Gold, 11 mm, 1.72 g), 'Vogelkopf' type. Head of a bird to left with large pellet above and below. Rev. Three pellets within torque with pellet at each end; all within shallow incuse. Dembski -. Flesche 302. Karl 256 (but doubtful). LT pl. XXIX, IV, 14. SLM -. Surface cracks on the obverse, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
